Meet Trouw’s New Quality Assurance Manager

Matt Ruth, Trouw Nutrition’s new Quality Assurance Manager, will manage the company’s raw materials, including specifications, testing, data analysis, Product Quality Assurance (PQA) certificate creation, new ingredient assessment and approval, Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) compliance, and collaborating with customers and vendors. Matt Ruth, Trouw Nutrition’s new Quality Assurance Manager, will manage the company’s raw materials, including specifications, testing, data analysis, Product Quality Assurance (PQA) certificate creation, new ingredient assessment and approval, Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) compliance, and collaborating with customers and vendors.

Ruth will work closely with Trouw Nutrition’s Quality Assurance leadership, including Tom Best, Director of Quality & Food Safety, and Scott Buchwalter, Senior Quality Assurance and Laboratory Manager.

With over a decade of quality and food safety experience, Ruth brings a wealth of knowledge to the role. Career highlights include increasing sanitation efficiency by a sustainable 10% through standardizing operations, introducing new technologies and improving the vendor selection process; he also decreased customer complaints at Swiss American by 10% through bolstering collaboration between the quality and production departments.

Ruth is also a Lieutenant with the Village of Maryville Fire Department and holds HazMat Operations certification. For over 10 years, Ruth has helped protect the community from fires and has responded to medical emergencies.
