Trouw Nutrition Welcomes New Leadership
16 March 2020
Both promoted from within, Ryan Hicks and Tom Best will lead new teams
St. Louis, MO, March 16, 2020 – Trouw Nutrition promoted two of its top employees to new leadership roles. Ryan Hicks, formerly Trouw’s Director of Quality and Food Safety, joins the Sales team as its new director, and Tom Best, who served as Trouw Nutrition’s Director of Quality and Food Safety from 2009 to 2017, returns to his former role.
“I wanted to take care of the Trouw family the best way I can and to continue the success of our great team,” said Hicks. “This move also aligns with the career path I want to build at Trouw.”
In his new role, Hicks will guide Trouw’s Sales team in providing top-notch customer service, as well as hire new Territory Sales Managers to support the growing business. Hicks will report to Chuck Hayden, Vice President of the Companion Animal Division.
With Hicks’ departure from the Quality team, Best will return to his director role, overseeing the development, implementation, monitoring, maintenance and improvement of Trouw Nutrition’s industry-leading Quality program. Best will report to Mike Hooper, General Manager for the Companion Animal Division.
“I had the privilege of leading a team that was instrumental in building the HSE and Quality systems to what it was three years ago,” said Best. “It was a bittersweet decision to leave the team that had achieved such a high level of excellence, but I knew I was leaving them in great hands with Ryan and Scott Buchwalter. It was an easy decision to come back to work with such a stellar and professional Quality team. I will work to come up the curve as quickly as possible while we transition forward. There are many friends and colleagues locally and across the globe that I have worked with previously. I look forward to getting reacquainted and sharing experiences, both challenges and successes, over the past three years in my absence. I am excited for the future, looking forward to meeting the new team members and working on a path to lead us forward.”
Their continued leadership is essential to the success of the business and to the development and growth of their respective teams. Congratulations to Hicks and Best!
